A magnificent set of monochrome ‘Greek’ chairs by Ettore Sottsass for Bieffeplast Padova, Italy. The chairs were initially released with plastic seats and backrests. The reason we don’t see them so much is because of the fact the plastic broke fast and required replacement.
The models presented here were never put into production. The seat and backrest are made from sand-casted aluminum. They were presented at the 1979 Salone del Mobile Milan, but because of their weight was never taken in production.
The orange / yellow color is original and has traces of age and use.
