1979 Andrea Belossi “Arc en Ciel” lamp for Studio Alchimia

Arc en Ciel light Sculpture… It’s name signifies a rainbow which is projected on the wall by means of an optical prism splits white light out of a halogen lamp.

Designed by Andrea Bellosi for Studio Alchimia in 1978 the Arc En Ciel is a real light sculpture as it does not only produce a light source but also a magnificent rainbow projection on a wall. Andrea Bellosi was very close to the avant-garde movement Superstudio and Archizoom and this lamp sculpture was one of his first designs. Alchimia is the forerunner of the more famous Memphis group.
