1983 Paolo Pallucco bench

A visually disturbing and yet very interesting bench that challenges the concept of form & function. On the other hand, it’s an entity that is struggling to be released, to be a fully autonomous identity. Most of the early works by Paolo Pallucco have this gesture of movement in their design and also the strong desire to not serve in a functional way. And yet it remains always functional.

This makes Paolo Pallucco undoubtedly one of the most poetic and talented designers of the early Italian postmodern ‘movement’.
