1972 Vittorio Introini rare pair of trapeze shaped sideboards for Saporiti, Italy

Description

A remarkable find, these pair of sculptural sideboards by Vittorio Introini for Saporiti.

The base of the sideboard is black lacquered wood and the fronts of the drawers and doors are in black ABS plastic, which was extremely in fashion from late 1960’s.

The trapeze shape of these sideboards make them visually  strong, unusual and masculine. In 25 years I haven’t come across these models, which most probably means they were only produced in small quantities and short period.

The larger sideboard has 4 folding doors falling open towards the user. The smeller sideboard has a door that falls open at the top and three drawers underneath.

There are not cracks or damage on the plastic or wood, would say that the condition is rather excellent.
