Belgian artist André Bogaert 1920 – 1986 Assemblages Golden Flower 1 & 2

Work of Belgian artist André Bogaert had been exhibited in 32 exhibitions: in Antwerp, Ghent, Brussels, Leuven, Sint-Niklaas, Ronse, Lokeren (Parkhotel and De Vuyst gallery), Liège, Rotterdam, Milan and London, both during his life and after his death. His works can be found in various museums, including the SMAK and the Museum of Modern Art in Brussels. He trained at the Academy of Dendermonde, at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Antwerp and at the Higher Art Schools of Düsseldorf and Munich. He received the gold medal for Still Life at the Academy of Dendermonde.

To sketch and make studies, he studied with Emile Claus, Prosper De Troyer and Albert Saverys, among others. He was an assistant to Floris Jespers and the American Steinbech.

In 1953 he received the Laurent Meeus Prize and in 1956 the Mayor Camille Huysmans Prize. André Bogaert obtained the Unesco scholarship in 1958 from atelier Kokoscka for Munich and Salzburg. He was also mentioned in the Talens Prize, the Olivetti Prize and the Prize of Young Belgian Painting. In 1965 he obtained the second Olivetti prize.

Galerie Alain Hens organised his first exhibition of André Bogaert in 2014. In 2019 he organized his second exhibition of André Bogaert.
